The Story of How We Met
The SINGTEX Education Foundation was established by Chairperson Amy Lai, whose deep commitment to education and serendipitous connection with music inspired its mission.
The name “SINGTEX” was derived from the English word “sing,” reflecting a passion for culture and the arts.
Beyond previous contributions—such as donating school uniforms to the Original Voice International Academy—the Foundation was fortunate to encounter the San-Zhi Junior High Drum Team, composed of passionate and dedicated young drummers. Through relentless practice, these students not only refined their musical skills but also cultivated resilience and perseverance.
Deeply moved by their spirit, the Foundation learned that the team was struggling with funding to replace worn-out instruments. This became the starting point of a meaningful partnership, one rooted in cultural appreciation and mutual support.
Amazing Drumbeats to Celebrate the New Year
On the first working day of the Year of the Snake, the San-Zhi Drum Team was invited to perform at the SINGTEX Group headquarters and factory.Their performance combined powerful rhythms with smooth formation changes, creating a perfect mix of strength and beauty.
The show opened with flat drums and giant drums played in sync. As the tempo picked up, drummers jumped into view, raised their drumsticks high, and delivered strong, coordinated beats that captured everyone’s attention. At one point, the team arranged the drums into a heart shape, then into a straight line—adding impressive visual impact to the sound.
Even in the cold wind, the students performed with full energy and focus. Guests and teachers nearby recorded the moment with pride. The performance ended with the team captain striking the drum and leading a deep bow, earning enthusiastic applause and bringing the ceremony to a powerful close.

Sharing Love Through Arts Education
The training that San-Zhi Drum Team students go through is about much more than just drumming. They also learn discipline, respect, and teamwork—important life skills that help them grow both in and out of school. For many of them, being part of the team offers a break from school pressure and a chance to experience the beauty of traditional arts through movement and rhythm.
After the performance, Amy Lai, Chairperson of the SINGTEX Education Foundation, and Jason Chen, Chairman of SINGTEX Group, shared their thoughts:
“We’re truly thankful to Teacher Chuang for leading such a talented group of students and bringing us such an inspiring performance—even in the cold weather. It was incredibly moving. The performance touched our hearts and also carried forward Taiwan’s rich drum culture. It was a beautiful experience for both the eyes and ears—full of energy and emotion. We believe it was fate and a blessing to meet the San-Zhi Drum Team. We sincerely wish every student success in school and continued progress in the art of drumming.”
