Pioneering the World’s First Chemical Textile-to-Textile Recycling Technology to Redefine Sustainability in Textiles
SINGTEX® Group, a global leader in performance and sustainable textiles, proudly announces its R&D 100 Award-winning innovation — RePUra™ by the Circu-Texfilm Project.
This breakthrough represents the world’s first chemical textile-to-textile patented recycling solution for complex composite textiles, successfully solving one of the most persistent challenges in the industry and opening a new chapter for true circularity in global textile sustainability.
From Waste to Regeneration: A Revolutionary Chemical Breakthrough
Each year, more than 120 million tons of textile waste are generated worldwide, yet less than 1% can be recycled into new textiles.
Most waterproof and breathable apparel is made of composite materials combining polyurethane (PU), polyester, and spandex, which are extremely difficult to separate and recycle using traditional mechanical methods.
RePUra™ utilizes innovative chemical depolymerization and repolymerization technology to break down PU-rich composite waste into high-purity molecular components and regenerate them into high-performance recycled polyurethane materials.
This breakthrough achieves molecular-level circularity, giving new life to textile waste once considered impossible to recycle.
