In January 2022, SINGTEX Group invested 2.3 billion New Taiwan Dollars to construct a four-story, 12,000-ping precision dyeing and finishing plant in the Taoyuan Polyfiber Plant area. This decision underscores the company’s commitment to increasing self-production rates and research and development capabilities, and staying rooted in Taiwan.
With the pressure for green transformation in the international market, the practice of ESG has become part of corporate social responsibility and the cornerstone of sustainable development for businesses.
During the planning phase, in response to the low-carbon challenge and according to the company’s strategy, we focused on building a green smart factory and optimizing manufacturing processes. The details of various installations are as follows:
Material selection: Large-scale use of recyclable steel structural materials.
Architectural design: To reduce the energy consumption of lighting and air conditioning equipment, a large number of light shields and ventilation roll-up doors were planned.
Green electricity planning: Solar power generation was installed on the roofs of the plant area and factory buildings, expected to produce 1,500KW of green electricity per hour.
Energy management system: All equipment purchases included machine networking in the standard specifications, and digital flow meters were installed on various energy devices to accurately monitor energy consumption and costs, set goals, and improve energy efficiency year by year.
Big data: Through the energy management system combined with ERP data, process data is collected and analyzed to optimize process conditions.
Steam source: Natural gas is used to reduce carbon emissions, and parallel flow steam boilers are purchased. In addition to rapid steam supply, the number of boiler start-ups can be automatically adjusted according to the number of machines in operation to reduce energy loss.
Reuse of recycled water: Cooling water (about 50-60°C) from the process is recycled to reduce water resource consumption and the use of steam for dye vat heating.
Rainwater harvesting: Rainwater from the roof is collected and reused to reduce water resource consumption.
Low bath ratio dyeing machine: Low bath ratio dyeing machines are purchased to save water resources, steam, and electricity.
Wastewater treatment system: A wastewater treatment system consisting of chemical + biological + chemical treatment processes is constructed, and the effluent quality far exceeds industrial area discharge standards. At the same time, the water pool is underground, and a football field and greenery are planned on the upper level. Plans are also underway for recycling and reuse.
The goal of the intelligent factory and environmental sustainability plan is to deepen roots in Taiwan. Additionally, we plan to establish a demonstration plant area and a global technical center in the plant area, providing colleagues with a more comfortable and environmentally friendly working environment, and serving as a reference and technical core for future expansion in Taiwan or overseas.
