In an increasingly diverse and fast-changing world, helping children learn to respect differences, understand others, and develop empathy from an early age has never been more important. This year, Singtex Education Foundation (SEF) once again partnered with Chinese Love & Care Charity Association to support the “Music and Courage – CRPD Advocacy Performance,” bringing lessons of inclusion and human rights directly into classrooms.
We Are All Different: Where Differences Meet Respect
Last year, SEF supported the Association’s touring program, “We Are All Different,” which visited several elementary schools across New Taipei City. Through relatable storytelling, theatrical scenes, and interactive activities, students discovered that everyone is unique and valuable in their own way. Amid laughter and reflection, they began to see others through a more understanding and respectful lens while also learning about the rights protected under the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
Music and Courage: Where Understanding Finds Its Voice
This year’s “Music and Courage – CRPD Advocacy Performance” uses music to connect hearts. The performer with disability shares her personal journey, helping students to better understand equality, respect, and inclusion, while deepening awareness of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).
When the performer played the melody of “Lonely Warrior” from the ocarina, children instinctively began to hum along. Soon, their young voices blended into a gentle chorus. In that moment, the boundary between stage and audience seemed to fade away. The children’s singing became a heartfelt response, a shared expression of encouragement and connection. The song’s powerful message reminded them that differences do not diminish one’s worth, and that everyone can find the courage to be themselves while supporting one another.

From the laughter inspired by stage performances to the bonds formed through music, these experiences gently teach children to respect differences and care for one another. They come to understand that everyone has their own story and deserves to be valued. Singtex Education Foundation hopes this positive influence will grow alongside the children, encouraging acts of kindness and empathy that will shape a more compassionate and inclusive future.
