The Workplace Warmth of a Cup of Coffee: From Tactile Learning to Cultural Heritage

From LIBRETTO NO.5

The Temperature in That Aroma Quietly Ferments into Cultural Essence

At SINGTEX, there exists an aroma that doesn’t emanate from our products, but from every cup of coffee personally brewed by our employees. It represents cultural fermentation, an echo of dedication, harboring our mutual understanding and trust while symbolizing the company’s commitment to gradually infusing warmth and heritage into daily life.

The Coffee Course’s Original Intent: A Leader’s Vision

For most people, coffee serves as a daily beverage for alertness and energy; but at SINGTEX, it initiated a gentle cultural revolution. This “Barista Italian Coffee Course – Beginner to Intermediate” didn’t emerge from institutional planning, but was born from thoughtful leadership consideration. Chairman Chen Kuo-Chin’s vision was clear: coffee represents the common language of modern workplaces. We should provide employees opportunities to personally brew exceptional coffee—not merely as employee welfare enhancement, but as a means of bringing people closer together. Thus, SINGTEX’s “S.Café®” platform began—a space where culture quietly ferments through aroma.

From Tactile Learning to Workplace Refinement

When the course launched, skepticism naturally arose: How does learning coffee extraction and latte art benefit work performance?

Consider this: “When you’re willing to carefully complete every detail for a cup of coffee, repeatedly practicing latte art, your tactile sense, patience, and observational skills have already quietly internalized into workplace competency.”

“Tactile learning” transcends mere technical proficiency—it represents refined perception and self-discipline. From mastering machine stability to observing milk foam moisture and texture, each element cultivates “mind-hand unity” focus. These skills directly correspond to our most frequent workplace challenges: detail management, problem-solving, and client communication.

In Latte Art, Confidence Shines

My most unforgettable moments involve witnessing each student’s first successful latte art creation, their eyes reflecting unmistakable surprise and confidence:

“I never imagined I could create something so beautiful with my own hands.”

That represents belief growing from craftsmanship—an expectation of personal capability and future potential.

A Cultural Transmission and Commitment

The coffee course doesn’t merely impart skills; it represents cultural transmission. Every brewing session and sharing moment—whether between colleagues or during client reception—becomes warm dialogue expressed through aroma. We don’t just teach “how to brew” but practice: “In this workplace, we’re willing to invest time in nurturing you.”

“Xin” Heritage Begins in Daily Life

In my view, “xin chuan cheng” (transmission of heritage) doesn’t reside in slogans or systems, but in ensuring every employee genuinely feels they’re part of the culture—a value transmitter in daily life.

Heritage Beginning with Aroma

When coffee’s aroma drifts into offices, it also enters our hearts. It represents cups of personally brewed intention and quietly transmitted corporate spirit.

SINGTEX believes authentic culture ferments quietly through dedicated cultivation, and heritage begins with these heartfelt cups of coffee.
